Lone Pine Pie Crust Recipe:
Makes a large batch. & YES! you can freeze it.
5 cups Flour
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 stick soft Butter
2 cups butter flavored Shortning
Mix well with a pastry cutter. In a 1 cup measuring cup add:
1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
& ICE COLD Water to equal the 1 cup
Fold together gently and refrigerate about an hour before use.
roll out into a pie plate, using a floured board and rolling pin. Or, roll small rounds and make hand pies- crimping edges with a fork?
Fill with your favorite filling sweet or savory- brush top pie crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar- white sugar or raw sugar both work great (on savory, try a little salt)! Then bake on low oven rack at 400 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown & bubbly.
